Every headline number is calculated from public, non-demo tasks that have a corresponding TASK_FUNDED ledger event. Use this page as a source for research, reporting and marketplace comparisons; it is not an estimate of the wider gig economy.

What is Nothing.gripe?
Nothing.gripe is a funded task marketplace: requesters fund one-off tasks before eligible doers can claim them, do the work, submit proof, and receive the stated doer allocation after verification. The same entity may also be described as a funded challenge marketplace, task bounty marketplace, no-bid paid work marketplace or one-off task marketplace.

How much marketplace activity is represented?
The headline funded count is a count of task records, not dollars of economic activity. A single task can have a very different budget, payout or completion window from another. The report therefore keeps counts, currency totals and payout statistics in separate views instead of converting different currencies into one synthetic total.

Methodology
A task enters this dataset only when it is non-demo, public and has at least one TASK_FUNDED event in the financial ledger. Open tasks must currently have status OPEN. Completed counts include PAID and COMPLETED. Category, task-type, currency, monthly and payout views all use the same public funded-task population.
