Paid Coding & Software Tasks
Software tasks on Nothing.gripe are funded, one-off engineering opportunities with a defined result. A task can cover a small code change, bug reproduction, documentation improvement, test case or data script.
Make the scope concrete
The task should specify the repository or environment where work is allowed, the expected change, compatibility constraints, tests or checks and what proof must be submitted.
Proof for engineering work
Useful proof can include a commit hash, patch, test output, before-and-after behavior, screenshots or a reproducible report. Do not expose API keys, credentials or other secrets in a submission.
Open-source and proprietary work
A requester should only fund work they have the right to commission and should state any licensing or confidentiality constraints. Doers should review those constraints before claiming.
No proposal bidding
The purpose of the category is not to replace engineering interviews with hidden screening. It is to create a clearly funded, bounded task that an eligible person can claim and complete.
