What is Nothing.gripe?
Nothing.gripe is a funded task marketplace where requesters fund one-off tasks before eligible doers can claim them. The marketplace flow is fund → open → claim → do → prove → verify → pay. In other contexts the same entity may be described as a funded challenge marketplace, task bounty marketplace, no-bid paid work marketplace or one-off task marketplace.
For terminology, see funded task, doer and requester. For current evidence, use Marketplace Data and its machine-readable exports.
What this report measures
The report uses the same first-party population as the Small Task Marketplace Data page: a task is included only when it is public, non-demo and has corresponding TASK_FUNDED ledger evidence. This keeps public research tied to a verifiable marketplace event instead of mixing drafts, demos, private records or unfunded requests into the headline totals.
The report is a platform case study. It should not be read as a census of the global gig economy, a forecast of future demand, or a guarantee of what a doer can earn.

Research questions this report can support
Use funded records, recent monthly volume and open/completed status counts as operational activity measures.
Use category and task-type distributions to describe the current mix of public funded work.
Use the funding-currency distribution and the native-currency tables in the dataset without combining currencies.
Methodology and limitations
- Inclusion: public, non-demo task with corresponding
TASK_FUNDEDledger evidence. - Open: task status is
OPEN. - Completed: task status is
PAIDorCOMPLETED. - Monthly view: task creation month over the latest 12 months with qualifying data.
- Currency policy: native-currency values remain separated; no synthetic cross-currency total.
- Scope limitation: this describes Nothing.gripe's platform data, not the wider gig-work market.
