Cookie settings
Every cookie and browser storage item Nothing.gripe uses, what each one does, how long it lasts, and how to change your choice at any time.
1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small text files a website asks your browser to keep and send back later. Local storage is similar, but stays in your browser and isn't sent to the server with every request. Both can be "first-party" (set by nothing.gripe) or "third-party" (set by another company's code running on the page).
Nothing.gripe itself doesn't set any cookies. It uses a few local storage items to make the site work, and two analytics tools that may set cookies, one of them only with your consent.

3. Always on: needed for the site
These stay in your browser, aren't used for tracking, and don't need consent. They're kept until you clear your browser's site data.

Our hosting and security provider, Cloudflare, may set a short-lived security cookie (such as __cf_bm, about 30 minutes) to tell people from bots. It's used only for security.
Admins who sign in to the admin area also have an admin session stored in their browser. Visitors never do.
4. Optional: analytics
Microsoft Clarity
Clarity shows us how the site is used: which pages are viewed, where people click and scroll, and recordings of sessions so we can see where things are confusing or broken. It masks text typed into form fields by default. It doesn't load at all unless you choose Accept.

Matomo
Matomo (hosted by Matomo Cloud) counts page views, referring sites, device and browser type. Without your consent it counts visits without setting any cookies. If you accept, it can also recognise returning visitors.

5. Other third-party requests
Some things load from other companies' servers without setting cookies, but your browser still sends them your IP address and browser details, as with any web request:
- Google Fonts, for the site's typefaces.
- Matomo Cloud, for the cookie-free visit count described above.
- NOWPayments, when you open a crypto payment.
- Telegram, when you choose to sign in or open our bot.
6. How consent works here
- On your first visit, a small notice asks you to Accept or Decline.
- Until you choose, Clarity doesn't load and Matomo doesn't set cookies.
- If you leave without choosing, nothing optional runs, and the notice appears again on your next page.
- Your choice is saved in
ng-consentin your browser, and applies to every page of nothing.gripe in that browser. - Your choice isn't linked to any account. If you use another browser or device, you'll be asked again.
7. Changing or withdrawing your choice
Press Change cookie choice at the top of this page. The notice appears again and you can pick Accept or Decline. Declining after you had accepted tells Clarity and Matomo to stop, and Matomo forgets your consent. Cookies already set by Clarity may stay in your browser until they expire or you clear them.
Withdrawing consent doesn't affect anything collected while it was given.
8. Controlling it in your browser
You can also block or delete cookies and site data in your browser's settings. Clearing site data for nothing.gripe removes everything listed above, including your doer sign-in, so you'll need to sign in again.
- Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Third-party cookies / Site data.
- Safari: Settings → Privacy → Manage Website Data.
- Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data.
- Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions.
Browser add-ons that block trackers also work. The site still works without optional cookies.
9. What we don't do
- No advertising cookies, no retargeting, no ad networks.
- No selling or sharing of cookie data for advertising.
- We don't use fingerprinting to identify you without cookies.
10. Changes to this page
